Default 06 RR Driver Door wont open with KeyFob

Hello All,

I have a 2006 range rover full size. While sitting in it and playing some music a few days ago , I pushed down the lock switch with left elbow.
Upon exiting the car a few hours later, I noticed the key fob was no longer working to lock or unlock the driver's side door. It works properly for all doors except the one on the driver's side. The main power lock button on the dash is also working for every other door except for the one on the driver's side.

Can someone help me with a quick fix to this problem? Thanks in advance.

Try cycling the locks with the lock button in the the car. If the rest are cycling properly then the actuator is failing or has failed (the driver door actuator is used a lot more than the others). The problem is most likely unrelated to you hitting the lock switch with your elbow.

I agree to it not being related, unless it is actually unlocking, and just not moving the button. Do all the other functions of the drivers door work?(mirror control for both sides, window controls) If the drivers switch pack can still make other doors work, windows, mirror, you're looking at a new door latch.

Thanks for the response guys! Based on some research, I think the problem might be the actuator like Lrscott mentioned. I hear they don't cost that much so im willing to buy one online. Question is where csn i find one? Tried ebay and came up empty.
That said, do you guys think installing one can be done easily by a non mechanic? I would hate to pay an arm and a leg to have someone put it in for me.
I noticed there are 3 screws holding the inner door cover to the door.

If you cannot find other sources for the actuator, the dealer, unfortunately is the only alternative for the part. I have not pulled the door panel off on the newer RR, but have on many other vehicles. Usually they are held on by 5 or so screws and various clips. If you take your time and are not aggressive, you should be able to pull it off without issues.

It's a pretty straight forward replacement. We charge 1.5 hours, door panel has 3 screws(one under the air bag clip) and a bunch of clips. just make sure you get the lock cylinder rod installed correctly.
Part number should be LR012791 , unless recently superceeded by a new number.

Thank you Roverguy7. I just ordered the part on eBay. I will try to install it myself since my mechanic wants $300 to put it in. I will keep you all updated on how it goes. Here is the link to the part I ordered on eBay
