So I pulled the supercharger belt and started the car and the rattle was gone however there was a ticking sound but maybe that was just the supercharger moving from the intake air moving through it. Will it be okay to drive until we can get a replacement part? I found this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rebuilt-Rang...53.m1438.l2649
Here's a video of the noise with the belt removed.

I'll bet you $1 it's the supercharger nose/cone, call it what you like. Not the most uncommon problem with these trucks.

Can it be replaced with the supercharger still on the vehicle? This one is offered on eBay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rebuilt-Rang...53.m1438.l2649

Remember you need the Oring too. You can see the bits here> Water Pump Kit: Fits The LR4, Range Rover Full Size And Sport

no, that is the oil cooler tube that goes into the BACK of the water pump. I'm talking about the small 1/4" fitting that goes into the front. It's some sort of one way check valve. Looks like it's one of those parts that's been replaced by another part that's been replaced.

You will need to remove it, but it isn't the end of the world to get it apart. Plus you will be sure to get a good seal. Re: the rebuilt part from ebay, IDK anything about the seller/company.... IMHO I'd go OE. A rebuilt "anything" is only as good as the core that was used. For what it's worth, I don't buy any rebuilt parts. Maybe someone here who has used a rebuilt snout can give you more info. Good Luck!

Okay I was hoping I could just remove the nose cone without having to remove the supercharger.

I had that same ticking noise on my LR4 (obviously not supercharged) on a very cold morning. Then I found a video of someone with a Chevrolet Colorado with the same noise. It was the fan clutch. Never heard it again.
