Default 2008 Range Rover SuperCharged - Knock Sensor

I have to replace the knock sensor on my 2008 range rover supercharge. 106k miles. Everything else is great. Runs good. No issues but was told it needed to be changed because the code was coming up for it. Is this something I can get my father in law who is a mechanic can do on the side or does it have to be land rover mechanics? The estimate to replace sensor and some gaskets with labor seems high from what Ive read online or maybe its correct. $1500.00. I need some guidance please. Thanks

Sounds ridiculous.
It's a $100 part, has a plug on one end, and 2 wires, one to each sensor, and each is held on with a bolt.
They may be a pain to get to, I don't know...but not $1500 hard to get to.
Any mechanic should be able to replace them.

Update. Turns out the bumper to bumper insurance we paid for when we purchased the vehicle is gonna kick in and pay for the knock sensor and some gaskets to be replaced with labor. But we will need to pay $1000 to for labor and parts to replace a phenum? Not sure. But I told them to go ahead and do it. I also asked to show me pictures of work being done for my records. So lets see how it works out.

Plenum, intake manifold, it must be cracked, not alot else that could be wrong with it, cast aluminum, it has no moving parts.
