Default Anyone ever....

Has anyone ever bypassed a 1995 p38 alarm with a nice aftermarket alarm and auto start kit? I need to know if it can be done or not. My factory alarm does not work with the remote keyless entry and the back door locks have to be locked manually because they dont work either. Any information will be greatly appriciated...

You might want to fix you back door locks which will in turn fix your alarm problem with your remote.
Once that is done then go to your favorite auto radio/alarm shop and add your remote start.

I am the do it yourself type of guy! I worked at a car audio shop fpr 2 years installing electronics in autos and boats. It is more of a passion in life than anything. I figured someone might have gone thru the same ordeal and has a known fix to get the back locks to working again. Guess I will just have to start with taking the door panels off and test the power lock motors, clean all terminals & connection points. I wont be back in Florida to mess with it until Thursday morning. If you guys know of anything that might help, I would be greatly appriciative...

Electronic Troubleshooting manual, that and a workshop manual is what the mechanics at the dealerships use. Matter of fact, you have to buy them from the parts department of your local dealership to get it if you buy it new.

The rear door lock problem could be a couple different things. There is a relay that might have popped out or it may just be a short in one of your accuators. They should all unlkock if you use the key to enter the vehicle or if you manually lift or push down the intreroior lock. If the driver and passenger fire but the rear don't I would check the wiring and the relay. Again, you will probably need to get out a RR wiring reference. Let me look through the shop manual and see ifthey mention this specific combo. As far as finding a manual; you can get one on CD or DVD from Ebay for about $14.00. Mine has part numbers and repair job numbers in it also. It has been indespensible.
