Default Driver Seat Memory

The driver seat consistently fails to return to M1 settings when I start the car. (Which no one else drives.) After starting , I have to press M1 about half the time to get it to return to the same position.

LR is very aware of this issue and it's the seat memory module. So it's off to The Dealer with you so they can reconfigure the module or install a new one. Good Luck!

Default Driver Seat Memory

Thanks OverRover, this is good to know.

The local dealer checked the VIN and advises that there are no 'open recalls' on the vehicle. They challenged the accuracy of the link you had sent, and suggested that it may only apply to a certain VIN Range.

Does that sound reasonable..? The dealer is Cole European in Walnut Creek.

The only thing The Stealer is correct about is this is not an "open recall" that was also the reason I labeled the link " LR TSB".

That link is the direct action that LR communicated the solution to the federal agency National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and LR Dealers. And that Stealer can question the accuracy of the info all day, but it's on file with the Federal Government...
so F them!

You can search it here just put in your VIN or year, model etc. > https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchSafetyIssues And the above pic are the affected models....look familiar?

The Stealer is Full-O- that they don't know about this, and they are trying to treat you like a jerk. They just don't want to do a "goodwill warranty" service, which they still get paid to do. If your Stealer is still being A-holes speak with a Regional Service Manager. That's the person from LR corporate that deals with The Stealer directly on your behalf. It should never have to come to that. I had this done on a 2011 RRS when I was passing through Ohio last year with zero pushback.

I hope you won't need it, but Good Luck!

Unhappy Driver Seat Memory

Here is the response.. I have requested the regional service manager contact info from the national support site... -Mark

Hi,
According to our Warranty Manager, the link you sent is for a “bulletin” and not a recall or service action. It looks like a software update and is not covered by the factor since your vehicle is out or warranty. Also your vin number does not fit in the range of those vehicles meeting the correct criteria.
If you would like to make an appointment, we can make a proper diagnosis.
Thank you,

****

What a load of B$! Yes, speak with the Regional Service Manager. The Stealer's Service Dept Customer Relations Monkey is just handling you. I would also call another LR Dealer. This is such a nothing repair that they just want you to eat. Now I'm getting pissed off for you.
