Default Heads for a 1990 3.9 litre

So I am a new guy on this forum but not new to rovers. Have worked on them at a dealership and worked on them for others too. I recently purchased a 1987 RRC and it came with a parts 1990 RRC. The 1990 has a 3.9 shortblock that came with it and all I need is a set of heads and I can transfer it over to my 87 which has a VERY TIRED 3.5. I was wondering if the 3.5 heads will work on my 3.9? I cant immagine too much of a difference but then again I really dont know...lol. Also by any chance anyone know of a decent flat top piston to help with the 8.13 to 1 compression that the 3.9 has?
