Are you swapping out the short block? or putting a junkyard motor in it? Make sure you have the proper cam in it, orange for 4.0, red for 4.6 liter make sure the intake is the same, note the postion of the crank sensor.

@sideburns - I'm just gonna put a junkyard motor in it for now. First I'm gonna try this Blue Devil sealant stuff. See if that works. Worse case, I gotta change the engine anyway. I plan to keep this thing forever. I'm going to swap the motor, and eventually do an LT1 Conversion. That will make it more reliable, and I don't have to deal with that finicky BeCM anymore.

Be very careful and inspect the motor before installing, I went through a few motors before the yard send me one that would match up. If it's got miles on the new/old yard motor might want to do a quick valve job and intake gaskets while its easy.

Good luck, I don't think the fix-in-a-bottle will work but I suppose no harm in trying.

sideburns makes a good point. A real good time to replace the head gasket on the junkyard motor before installation as well. Oil pan gasket if you have time, but that is relatively easy with the motor in the car.

Honestly, I don't think the fix-in-a-bottle is gonna work either. But hey, what have I really got to lose... right? I'm gonna follow the instructions to the letter and keep my fingers crossed. One can only hope... If it works, I just bought myself some time to get a new engine, or even source the parts for my LT1 conversion. THAT should be fun...
