Default Unable to communicate with BECM Nanocom

Well I picked up a P38 about a month ago sight unseen and was lied to about vehicle condition. Being my stubborn self I still agreed to purchase it. Long story short I found multiple issues with wiring, the engine fuse box and corrosion all throughout the BECM. I have a Nanocom and I'm unable to communicate to the original BECM. I picked up a used BECM and installed in and now mostly all of the features of the P38 are now working correctly but the Rover will only crank and not start. The remote will not lock or unlock the door locks and there is no engine light displayed with the key turned to the second position. I know a obvious issue is going to be the key code but seeing how I am unable to retrieve it from the old BECM I'm not exactly sure what my options are. Looking for some help?
