Help! electrical harness to the steering rack issue.

Hi everyone, I have a 2014 Range Rover Evoque V6 which has been sitting in a parking spot for a while due to the electrical harness to the steering rack issue. I brought it to the shop, I was told that the harness needs to be replaced as well as needs to be reprogrammed, and was quoted about 10k to get this fixed. Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is replacing the wiring harness hard, like do I need to drop the subframe? and do I really need to have them reprogrammed or I can program it myself? I want to work on it myself, and I just need to know the structure of how it works, and how the repair should be done.

You posted your question in the wrong forum group. This is the full-size Range Rover forum and not the Evoque. Good luck with your issue.
