Difference in Range Rover & Range Rover Sport
What is the difference between a "regular" Range Rover and the Range Rover "Sport"? Does the "Sport" have the same capabilities?
Thanks |
It’s the size...Range Rover sport is smaller but maintains the same off-road capability |
The sport as noted is smaller and a bit more trendy than the full size. Love them both but really want the full size myself for the pure comfort of it

Size at first, handling, suspension tuning. They barely share any pars by the way too, I mean Engine/Tranny may be the same but beyond that barely anything. Like control arm on RRS is one pice A arm, on RR it is 2 pcs with Ball Joint and Bushing at each end. I am surprised to learn that even things such AC compressor, alternator, struts are different even though I could imagine hey could be the same for simplicity.

Very different interior too - depending on the year. 06 RRS was very similar to LR3 albeit with a slightly more sloped center console oh and far and less cup holders. i think i've counted them in the LR3 as being 11!!! RR of that time was totally different. The difference on the most current ones is less significant and the outsides are also starting to morph in to similar lines.
RRS was designed to plug a gap between the LR3 and the RR. I've driven all 3 many times and the RR is certainly a much more refined and comfortable ride. If I could find a decent RR SC within the year and price I would like vs an LR3 or a RRS SC - hands down the RR. |
That’s like asking “what’s the difference between the 4.0 and 4.6. “ $30k-$40k |
