Michelin Latitude Sport
Hello All,
I'm new to this forum and am still learning to navigate the website so I apologize if this has been discussed. Some background, I have a 2014 RRS SCV8 Dynamic and I live in central California. On occasion I take my kids to Tahoe to play in the snow, at least once a year. My delima is with my current tires, Michelin Latitude Sport. They are summer tires and I think they are pretty good plus they have a lot of life left in them. My question is should I change them out for a "winter" tire if i'm only going to Tahoe a few times a year at most? I don't plan on doing any off road stuff just driving on the street to the snow parks. I don't mind spending the money if needed but wanted your opinion. I have read some folks using the Michelin Latitude Sport in snow with no problem. Or maybe I'll just drive my Jeep to Tahoe until the tires wear out on the RRS.. Thanks |
We have whatever Michelin tires the dealer put on our '16 RRS SC. I'm really not sure which ones they are, but they look like typical road tires. They have done extremely well in all conditions for us so far, including snow. They did get defeated by 12" of snow with a layer of slushy ice at the bottom, but I don't know that it was a fair test. Here it is in 12"-16" of fresh snow, which it plowed through no issues at all.
