Switching from a Disco 2 to a 06 RR Sport SC
I sold off my Disco 2 the other day, and now have a new Rover bug, which is getting a 2006 RR sport with the supercharged V8. The one I am looking at has 98000 on it, someone has converted it to coils although the parts are there for putting back in air (swapped out due to compressor problem), no dash cracks, no rust (pacific NW), visually exterior and interior are in great condition, rear hatch glass inop. the seller wants 9800 for it, thinking of offering around 9000. I have had a Disco 2 for the last 2 years that was bought in non-running condition and I did all the work on it (head gaskets, radiator, many other things) to get it up to spec. I already maintain all our cars which includes 2 AMGs, and restoring an older mustang, so not afraid of working on cars.

Depends on miles really. The EAS is a wild card if you are planning to put that back into service it will be a lot of money. New air struts at all four corners and than what else besides the compressor is fubar.
Personally I am a fan of if you are happy than what others think is irrelevant

Just keep in mind a lot of things can contribute to a failed compressor.
Not trying to scare you off on the EAS, my 07 has EAS and it is an amazing ride. My 06 has the Lucky8 coil conversion and its great to.
EAS is a smoother ride though and better for towing. Off Road I have no concerns with my 06 coil springs don't drop to the bumps lol

I had a LR mechanic tell me the SC one's all eventually have the pipe that goes to the interactive rear sway bar leak. He told me the entire body has to come off to change it. Cost about $7k. He showed me one that was leaking that was on the rack. BS or not I'd look into it. I assume the non SC one's don't have this?

Been great so far, I mostly have been correcting things that keep it from being perfect, small stuff like replacing the rear hatch subwoofer, replacing the missing tray above the cooler in the center console, but overall really like it, not as capable as the Disco was, but more luxurious, and faster
