2004 Discovery 2 White, 33s, 4.10s Lockers
After a regrettably short time with this Land Rover its time to sell. Call me naive but after all the time and money I've put into it, the wife still doesn't want to daily drive it so its got to go.
Heres your chance to pick up a completely sorted D2. This has to be one of the cleanest D2s around. No knocks, no ticks, no codes, no 3 amigos, and no over heating (187*-197* year around). Cold AC and hot heat. 2004 Land Rover Discovery 2 w/138k miles Chawton White w/hard to find black interior, 5 Seater, Heated Seats/Windshield, Dual Sun Roofs, Center Diff Lock, Complete Service History. Bluetooth w/mic via Grom and Front/Rear Dashcam with reverse camera in mirror. Interior is excellent. No tears or rips. New headliner. Everything works, even the ash tray/coin tray. Body is near perfect. Stock bumper has no cracks front or rear. No clear peeling anywhere. No dents. Zero rust. Run likes a top, in the last few months, I've taken two trips from Las Vegas to Phoenix (750miles round trip) and averaged almost 17mpg without a hiccup on either end. Off Road Goodies (this thing is a mule, just point it and it will crawl up a tree):
Maintenance/New in the last 6 months/4,000 miles:
Extras/Spares Included:
I've got the CarFax from April 2017, pm me your email address and I'll send it. Full disclosure, the muffler needs to be replaced (recently passed SMOG), the gears whine a bit but only my wife notices, and the fender flares could use a fresh coat of paint (which I have). $10,500 OBO. Guys I can tell you how clean this truck is. I used to own this one. I sold it to the current owner and we've stayed in contact ever since. I thought I did maintenance to my vehicles on a crazy scale this guy puts me to shame. This is a very very clean sorted truck.

What a steal, a $40k vehicle for a quarter of the price! haha
Also everyone that calls it a CDL has been lying to you, its an LCD! Original Window Sticker https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...d7513e36ed.jpg |
Looks so nice it makes me almost want a D2

Is this Disco still for sale?
|
Yes, still for sale.
Washed up the exterior the other day.... https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...239a3fa0be.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...e8b9f7d9fd.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...df9ec85b7d.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...cb2352cca8.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...77e2a5477a.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...a20f84ed5c.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...c379982130.jpg |
Your wife would look good driving this...

There are actually back seats, and they do make "specially designed" child restraints (car seats) for them...but as you can imagine...putting a child in one would take the back muscles and flexibility of an ape and the cost of one...well...you can probably figure out what that would be...lol.
https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...1f2cd79af3.jpg Anyhow, "old blacky" is going up for sale this spring, maybe if you still have "old whitey" then...we can come to an agreement. Brian. |
I can swap the factory 3.54 open gears back in and drop the price to $9k.
This is a rust free disco that has spent its entire life in California and Nevada. |
Price drop to $9500 as is or $8500 without the gears/lockers.
I've got almost $14k into this thing but its time to move on and payoff my cc. |

Some folks asking about the back up cam. I mounted the backup cam to the top of rear glass near the third brake light. Here are a few pics of it in action.

How has this not sold? I think the price isn't too far off the reservation. Man, I would have thought long and hard about it before I got the '00 I got about the same time this went up for sale.
I'm most impressed with the undercarriage condition- that's why I flew to SoCal for mine... Best of luck getting this sold. |

There are a number of hardcore folks that will balk saying they can get something similar for $3k all day long, but as I've done months long searches for these things before, I think most folks underestimate the value of getting a machine that lived in the CA/NV climate and how hard it is to find one that has not only lived in that mild climate, but been enthusiast owned.
Bottom line, this hits almost every button I'd be looking for when shopping if I were looking for a turnkey machine. I'm happier with what I got as I wanted the 7 seats (and rear A.C), and am having fun with the airbags and I REALLY like the ACE system for how I drive it most of the time. But again, to anyone who is realistic about getting one that they can just drive and not fix everything that will need to be addressed, this is a winner in my opinion. |
I'm asking $3500.00 for my 04 with 113K that is flawless inside & out minus the low oil pressure light. Not one person has even come to look at it..... Think I'm just going to save up & find a 4.0/4.6L engine and then sell it for 8K easy. Truly shocks me especially with all the complete crap for sale in my area including an 04 that went under 3+ ft of water during Harvey and the owner is still asking 4K for it with water in the headlights, and mold in the interior...
I bought it because I never had found an 04 that was in great shape inside and out. After buying it I just prefer my 99 & 02 vs the 04. I've got one more front timing cover to install on the 04 to see if that fixes it, I've also got all the lower bearings to install. I just haven't had any time with work (especially after Harvey), and the family taking up 95% of my time to break down the engine, and try another front cover or swap out the bearings. It runs and drives great, and as long as you keep the RPM's up at idle it's fine. P.S. every time I see this D2 I just think how close it was to being mine lol. |
From the nationwide D2 prices I've seen in the last few months, it looks more and more like a seller's market.
Apparently the majority of buyers can't or won't work on them, and are willing to pay above book for a good one. Given the condition and aftermarket parts on Easydoesit's Disco, I think it's a good deal. By the time you find a solid truck cheap, do the repairs, add the lift, ect. You've easily spent more than what he's asking. Can it be done for less? Sure, with lucking across the right steal of a deal, but those are few and far between. I don't like posting in someone's for sale ad, but at the same time, hopefully our comments will help it sell for him. I see alot of decent looking D2s on the east coast, that aren't as nice, are stock, have or will soon have issues, and they want more than what he's asking. Someone will get a really good deal on Easydoesit's D2. And Best4x4, I think you're right on doubling your price, seriously. The $4k sounds like cheap problems to the uniformed potential owner. $8500 sounds more worth it to many. As owners, who can complain? Me, that's who, where were either of you guys 7 months ago when I bought my 04 money pit?! lol |
Yep I think that’s what I’m going to do.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. I'm hoping that tax season will bring in the right buyer.
I've got almost $14k into this truck that I don't expect to fully recoup. Throughout my light build of suspension, gears, upgrades and maintenance, not one bolt gave me trouble. It's ridiculous how clean this thing is. Everyone who looks at it can't believe how great of shape it's in. It's been meticulously maintained for the past 14years. I've got a stack of receipts dating back several years and a lot are from Land Rover dealerships. I've heard people say "If you're going to buy a Land Rover, buy it from a rich person bc chances are all service was done at a dealership as recommend by Land Rover". This is one of those Land Rovers! With that being said, the price isn't necessarily firm but I'm not going to give it away. $9500 with gears/lockers $8500 without gears/lockers |
I knew you were going to lose your butt, but dang I feel bad for you as you obviously did it right. Someone will get a nice machine- hopefully an enthusiast who’s like me and appreciates the work, but just didn’t have time to do it themselves.

Great looking disco! Please pm me. Would like to discuss. When were the heads done? Thx. UOTE=EasyDoesIt;635208]I knew I wasn't going to make any money but thought it would sell faster. Someone will get a smoking deal.[/QUOTE] |
Sold the Disco for $7500, without gears/lockers. I lost my ass on it but had a lot of fun with it. I will own another Disco in the future. Looking to sell the following to recoup a bit of my loss..... -diffs w/4.10s, Detroit and TrueTrac for $1500 firm. -three amigo code reader $75 firm -Front tf springs 4" lift tf052 $100 -Rear tom woods drive shaft, 6k miles, $175 |
This is a nice looking disco and only a preventative head gasket repair away from being near perfect! I’m surprised the new buyer didn’t want the gears and extra stuff you’ve posted. In the long run- all those items have owner value. Sorry to hear that you had to sell. It’s always tricky when the credit cards are involved with all the cool upgrades you did. Not to worry- you’re next ride is out there within whatever budget you have. Sounds like you learned a lot in your short disco ownership experience. That has value all in itself. Good luck with everything.

Good luck with everything. I didn't see the point in a preventative HG replacement, to me that would be like replacing a tire that still had 30k of life because it will eventually wear down. Either way that's for the new owner to figure out. Speaking of, after a week of driving he is still very happy and it made the 500 mile drive home with zero surprises. |
Buyer got a great disco- no question. You found a good one. It’s so common for most of us to get soaked on HG’s and failed liners.BTDT more than once.

Thanks. I was sad to see it go but 3 vehicles in my driveway just wasn't practical.
