guy on the jeep forum was looking for a rover video
"The vehicle was on it's side, and about 20 locals were "helping" trying to flip it back on it's wheels. When they finally succeeded, you see no one set the brake and the vehicle goes rolling down the hillside and crashes like you'd see in a cartoon. "

I don't understand..how is the oil getting into the combustion chamber from the cooler lines?

What? Do you want a full explanation of the oil flow in a rover v8?

I know the exact video your talking about. mexicans flip the truck off its side and it rolls off a clif.

It doesn't have anything to do with oil cooler lines. It's more than likely from a blown turbo allowing the engine to suck crankcase oil in to the combustion chamber (could have been something else allowing lube oil in, but that's the most common scenario).
A reason to install a emergency air shut-off.

I think maybe you're thinking of this video of the runaway Land Cruiser. (I can't find the one without the half-assed commentary)

so its running? And why are they letting it?

antichrist Dec 27, 2010 08:53 PM

Once a diesel starts sucking oil in to the combustion chambers they are difficult to stop.
If it's a manual gearbox (and you can get to it through the smoke) sometimes you can get it in to gear and stall it, provided you can anchor is against something. Brakes alone wouldn't be enough.
Shutting off the air supply is the best way.

Antichrist notice I said rover v8 and oil cooler lines have been a huge cause of engine fires with American bound v8 defenders
