Yet another Disco on a budget...

Sine we are going wheeling this weekend and I didnt not have the foresight or money to buy a real Hi-Lift jack mount I made my own.
I bought two 2" wide U-bolts, one 3 1/2" long and the other 4" long and 4 lock washers. Positioned the jack, ran the U-bolt through the underside of the rack and through the jack. Using the flat piece and the lock washers and bolts I tightened the jack down. Total cost...$6. Attachment 46849 Attachment 46850 Attachment 46851 Attachment 46852 I might ask for a real mount for Christmas, I am not sure yet. |
Has that hi-lift ever been used? I would have spent the money for some wing nuts to make removal a little easier but other than that very nicely done. That will work just as well as the real mounts.

No it has not been used upto that point, which is kinda the whole point right?
To not get stuck? I used it this weekend though. Climbed the ladder with my wrenches, loosened the nuts and took the jack off the truck, took all of 2 min. I too thought of wingnuts but I was crunched for time when I made the mount. Attachment 46836 Next will be mounts for my sand ladders. |
now that is some serious stuck-ness.
