I agree it's designed to come on only during a cold startup. Nevertheless, mine does come on for 5-10 seconds occasionally, long after the engine's warmed up.

That does sound like the SAI pump. Mine does it too, maybe 3-4 times a year. Normally at a stop light or when I pull in to park and don't immediately turn off the ignition.
