it's 2017. I can say with confidence, if the motor is still running I wouldn't be concerned about it. Mechanical fails were seen soon after production in the earlier days of 2003. IIRC.

Cold Start - RPM's jump to 2K

Cold Start - RPM's jump to ~2k and hold for a second or two then, drops to a "normal" cold start idle.

Any idea why why this is happening? I can't believe this is normal behavior.

It's hard to tell. Some pics looks like oil, some look like antifreeze.

Pick up a can of brake cleaner. Spray clean the entire area of all that grime. Then, monitor for leaks in following days.

What the OP sees is the Trans cooler line, missing in the photo is the oil cooler line.
