Anyone try a filter setup like this or see any issues with it? This vehicle won't be used off road for a while so I don't have a strong need for keeping the oil filled unit.

I've seen them used. They look terribly out of place, but work just fine.

The oil bath air filters work very well. Do you have a good reason to get rid of it? The paper one should be fine as long as the bonnet doesn’t interfere with it, but it won’t filter as well as the oil.

Thanks for the replies. I agree it looks a bit out of place. I don't plan to use it for long unless I notice any improvements in performance. I'm just starting to dig into this project and and seems like every day I'm having to pull the stock air cleaner off to get to what I'm working on. I'm just using this while I get the rest of the bits sorted and then I'll restore the stock filter and use that.

74 horsepower when new. The extra noise might make you think it's better, but you won't notice an actual performance improvement. But it will work fine.
