Default Off-roading in SoCal

Just moved to the Los Angeles area and I'm looking for advice on off-road rides in the area. Did some research and there is a lot to choose from. Right now, looking for something scenic to take the family. Any thoughts on Main Divide in Cleveland National Forest or Berdoo Canyon in Joshua Tree National Forest?

Consider joining the SCLR, Southern California Land Rover club.
You will meet lots of people and trails.

Thanks for the feedback. Joshua Tree is on my 'to do' list and I'll look into SCLR. I found some great intel on trails.com and dirtopia.com. Made a quick trip last week out to San Bernadino/Cleghorn Ridge Trail. Good trail to start with first time out.

San bernardino mountains have some great trails, pick up a map at one of the ranger stations.
