Default Hella lights and stock fog dash button?

Thinking about getting a set of Hella hid's for my '00 discos brush guard... kit H71020181.

I was wondering, any easy way of working them into the dash button for the fog lights so I dont have a seperate button to activate them? can i splice right in at the dash button harness perhaps?

Sounds like you want to use the stock switch with the Hella harness, right?
I'm not familiar with HID wiring. I do have three sets of two lights each wired to stock switches in my D1. 1 set of 4000's(100W each), and two sets of 550's(55W each). It definitely gives a nice clean stock look instead of having toggle switches all over the place. As long as you don't use the stock wiring for the HID's you should be fine. I was told stock wiring is fine for 55W and less.

When I install my new front bumper on my P38, I will most likely lose my stock fog lights. I am looking at mounting them to the bumper itself, maybe even creating a custom cage for them. Either way, I will also be adding a set of Hella lights to the brush bar. Can I simply splice the wiring for the two units? If I dont' keep the fog lights, can I use the original wiring?

If I have to splice them, where and how should I do it?

I know this is similar to the OP's question, I just wanted to hop on the bus here, rather than creating a new thread.

Also, is there a way I can make it so that if wired into the stock fog light switch, I can keep them running while the highbeams are on?
