Default rear light cover question

I'm looking at getting the tail light guards for my disco 1.....I've noticed that they are offered two ways.....the kind that fit BEHIND the lens...and the kind you drill and screw on...

What are the pros/cons??....will the "behind the lens" type just crack the lens if it's hit at all??

I really don't want to drill holes if I dont' have too....

Any thoughts would be appreciated...thanks!!

Default RE: rear light cover question

Just so you know, neither of them stay on long especially if you are planning on some off road wheeling, branches tend to tear them off.
