Default Biggest size tire

What is the biggest size tire that can go on a 16" stock rim and stock suspension on a 96 Disco? I'm looking at some used Goodyear Wrangler MT/S that are 245/75/16.

i don't think you can put 245/75/16's on a stock D1... Stock tires on a D1 are 235/70/16

I have 265/70/16 on a D1 with a 2" lift and even with that I have a minor amount of rubbing (when turning)...

245/75/16 and 265/70/16 are basically the same size.....

245/70/16 are a little over 1" smaller. (and a Stock D1 tire is 1/2 an inch smaller than that)

A D2 can handle that size stock, but I don't think a D1 can..

i've got plenty of clearance with mine though... i think they'll fit...SD youve just been elected guinea pig... get them... if they fit let us know... if not, well then you have an excuse to get a lift kit... win win..
