Default Diesel getting into motor Discovery TD5

Hello ,
I have just joined the forum and am looking for some advice.
I have a 2003 Discovery TD5. The oil level rises due to diesel getting into the engine. My garage replaced the injector's rubber o rings and copper seals. The problem reappeared, this time the level was so high the oil flowed into the breathers and the turbo caused the car to take off alarmingly. The garage has just replaced the o rings for a second time in case the first attempt wasn't done properly but they are suggesting that the diesel might be getting into the block due to a crack in the head. Has anyone had experience of this problem , what is likely to be real cause.

Many thanks

Hopeddd

I had this problem on a Cummins engine in a Freightliner I used to drive.
It was the injectors leaking fuel into the crank case.

You need to get this fixed ASAP!!!
If you dont you may loose the engine, if it starts overfilling the crankcase again the engine will run on the oil/fuel mix and it will run out of control until it runs out of oil and seize up.

And its not just Land Rovers that have this problem either.

Thanks for the dramatic footage or the engine revving itself to death. I am aware of the potential result but would like to hear from anyone with specific knowledge of this problem relating to TD5 engines. What is the most likely cause of diesel being introduced into the motor. Would it be due to fuel bypassing the injector rubber O rings, or the copper washers, or a crack in the block ,.....
what is the most common cause.

Many thanks !.... hopeddd.

Where are you located? You might want to try finding British forums because no one here is going to have a TD5 if you are looking for people that have had that engine.

Thanks cminer,
I'm actually in Australia. I have posted on a UK site, I hadn't realised that I was asking questions to the U.S. and as you point out , you don't have TD5's , probably lucky for you !... thanks.

When I was a kid i saw a tractor/trailer rig on the side of route 80 in p.a. running away. 10 foot flames out of the stacks, smoke like you couldn't believe, the most horrifying metallic noise of 5k rpm out of a motor that's supposed to spin 1800.

I'd love to have one also ... thank you EPA. I burn near 3x the fuel for only slightly cleaner air to breath.
