Default Before I start freaking out...

So y'all will remember my first freak out with my CE light...turned out to be nothing. I really do not think it is simply a gas cap this time.

I was driving home, uphill (my town is up on the side of a mountain). When I started up the hill, around 1500 rpm and 25 mph or so, the engine did this flutter, hesitation thing...like it was having a hard time shifting into another gear. It stops when I let off the gas. As soon as I apply the gas and get above that range, it goes away for the most part, but if I drop back and stay at a lower speed with my foot on the gas pedal, it does it again. THEN, my CE light starts to flash...then stays on...then flashes again.
It's also idling really rough, or at least it did when I pulled over to scream and shake my fist at the LR gods about my first and only day off from work is tomorrow and I was planning on going shopping in Flagstaff (about 50 miles away). My temp gauge is well within normal range.

I am heading to Autozone to get the codes read...again. The manager will laugh at me but it's not a gas cap!
Anyone have any ideas? I've been reading about plugs and wires...possibly an MAF.

ARGH! NOT what I wanted to be doing on my day off. Irma hates me.

Sounds like your plugs and wire AnnieMae.
Have the guy at AutoZone tell you what the codes mean and then report back to us.

I hope that's it...although I would love to try to change them on my own, I have a feeling I should take it in somewhere as my workshop manual is buried under all this crap in the basement where I currently reside (still have no home yet, but working on it).

I'm assuming that these magecor wires and spark plugs (I read about champion 7318?) will have to be ordered?
Is there a "next best" to at least get me on the road sooner, and then order the good stuff and replace it later? (Can you tell I really want my car fixed today!?!?!?)

I guess it's good all this happened on my way home and NOT on my way to Flagstaff. I know I'm ridiculously frustrated about my car, but when I've worked 60 hours a week for the past several weeks and it happens on my one day off...argh. Although logically, it couldn't have happened at a better time I guess.[:@]

AnnieMae, because the plug wires are such a PIA you will only want to replace them once.
www.atlanticbritish.com and you can have them overnighted, 2 day air or standard ground. If you go with FedEx Home Delivery standard rate they will be to you Tues if you order before4 PM eastern today. They will ship today and be in trasnit all weekend. 2 day air you will have them Mon, overnight and you will have them tommorrow but it will cost you your first born child.
One of the reasons I like AB so much is because of the different shipping choices.

Call Tony at Cerrone's to get the Magnecor's Annie. AB doesn't offer the 8mm, just the 7mm. You can order the plugs at the same time too. Good luck.

So an 8mm Magnecor Ignition Wire Set and 4418 Bosch Plantinum + 4 Spark plugs?

I need 8 spark plugs, right?

It's about $170 on that website for both the spark plugs and wire set.

I'd call around town to see if I could find them locally, but my phone died. I have NAPA, Carquest, Checker, and Auto Zone.

Auto Zone didn't have what I needed and couldn't order it.
