Default and for tonights broken part,,,

my passenger side front window regulator some how bent itself to all hell inside the door.

i was on my way to a movie with a friend and when he rolled the window down it made a horrible sound. then when we attempted to roll it back up it just made a awful sound so we stopped and left it as is.

came home and removed the door panel and could see the arms were bent to all hell. the motor works fine and the glass is in great shape and not broken.

unbolted the regulator and removed it from the door. i would post a pic but i have already straightened it a bit to get an idea of what it is SUPPOSED to look like.

ordered a new one from atlantic british. was relieved that things came apart some what easily and without issue.

so is there a trick to getting it all back together with the glass in the door or does it need to be taken out first?

Why...I just dont get it. Why roll a window down? It lets the A/C out, messes up my hair and makes so much noise I cant hear the voices in my head.

Should be pretty straight forawrd, remove the bad one and install the new one.

my passenger window did the exact same thing... so i got it back up with some bending and maneuvering and then took out the switch to keep friends from accidentally rollin it back down...

the sound was sooo terrible i though i had broken the glass.

i looked at my buddy and said " do you know what that sound is?"

he says "what?"

i say "thats the sound of my wallet being squeezed empty"[8D]

opdered the replacement piece from atlantic british for 157 bucks. that is lots more easy to take knowing it wont have to go to a shop.

For parts like that, sometimes RoverLandParts is a good used parts source to check out. They have a guarantee for most everything they sell and have good prices.

Yeah, I hear ya on that. I would have gone the AB route to for the same reason, but it's a good place to remember for the future.

i agree,

i was hunting around for the part last night and i came across LR parts,

but i just figured new was the better way to go. i did not want to be back into the door anytime soon. though it did come apart fairly easily.
