Default New from Japan

I am in the US Military and currently stationed in Okinawa, Japan and I am looking to use this opportunity to possibly import a 25 year old Land Rover Defender 110 into the states. Good thing is the military will handle most of the paperwork and almost all related fees making the process much more user friendly.

For now I will be lurking the forum trying to gather information. However, if you know of any good articles please post them up.

It looks like I can get a decently low kilometer Defender from 1992 for about $27,500 (overall condition would be Very Good). I would be importing it in late 2017.

Thanks!

Welcome,

what are you going to save at that price, by the time its shipped here you could have paid the same $30k for one that already on the ground.

I was looking at some of the Defenders for sale near my area state side and across Ebay. The prices are sky high and overall condition is not that great.

I can get a 1991 Defender over here with around 30,000 miles and near perfect condition for $25,000. I have not been able to find anything remotely near that deal state side. If they exist please send me a few examples and I might just call my bank today!
