Default Moving to GA and picked up a cheap tow vehicle.....

So I am finally moving on to a new location for work. I'm heading to Augusta GA. We will be moving into our new place on 1 June. We are getting a house with a yard this time so the wife and daughter are super happy.

So some might have noticed I have been quite lately, the move, stuff at work and a few other things have kept me well and truly busy. So to help with the move and pulling a few vehicles to Georgia I picked up this old girl.

1999 Expedition Eddie Bower 5.4 4wd, should be able to pull the Defender and the MGB down on separate trips with no issue to their new home.

Picked it up super cheap. Did some brake work, some cooling system repairs and a lot of clean up. It was weird working on a Ford Truck. Need a part no problem they are all in stock and you can actually shop for a deal and pick it up in minutes.

Interior is pretty mint, front and rear heat/ac tow package leather brand new tires etc etc.

a few pictures...

......and man does it get HOT! The family will appreciate working AC. First time I ever knew the condenser fans come on without the AC running was at every intersection when idling. Seems most vehicles over a couple of years old are just heat worn out, engines not happy. Nice snag on the tug boat, haven't seen any without rocker rot....... Now you have to get a real boat to pull behind that tug, Clarks Hill Lake is gonna be calling......

oh it has some small rocker rot. Runs really well now, so it's all good. I have enough money pits without getting a boat. If I need one of those I'll rent it from MWR

I spent a few years at Stewart so trust me I know, but I'm so tired of freezing my sack off that I don't care lol.

It will get some use towing the Defender to Rover events so then I can wheel it like I stole it..

I couldn't wait to freeze my sack off again. When I die I know there'll be Pigly Wiggly's, Cracker Barrels and heat like Augusta. Cold weather preserves dead bodies, old Rovers and I still look 18. Ya know.... the boat comes in less costly, more of a shallow divot.

I hear you but I'm ready for a change so it's all good.

Got the lease on the house in GA today so, just need to finalize the movers and we are good to go.

Thanks gentlemen, sorry for being so quiet I spent the last couple weeks in the middle of no where Cali living out of a tent for work.

Today I put a full android head unit in it. GPS, hands free phone link etc etc.

Sorted a few other minor issues with a sticking power lock. Looks like I need to adjust the shifter cable. Seems like it has stretched and needs some of the slack taken in.

Yeah those beasts are cheap, my buddies just bought same for his dad $150 run drive, needed 1 coil

Good luck with a tune up, pull coil ,blow out the spark plug area( usually water and crap sitting in there) and spray in pb blaster let soak and pull plugs on cold engine/pray threads stay in head
