Default Fuel Pump

Replacing fuel pump. OEM part is PRC8318 for reference. Replacement is easy enough, but wanted to know what the oval part is above the pump - looks like a miniature brake fluid cover. Is there anything to rebuild or check there? Thanks

Are you going to replace the assembly? It's very cheap. I wouldn't waste time trying to cobble together one of those just replace the pump portion fixes for this job.

Land Rover parts, spares, Land Rover accessories - Search results for PRC8318

But to answer your question, I have no idea what that is.
