P38 on the trails
Some pics of a recent dealer sponsored off road event at Nemacolin Woodlands resort in SW Pennsylvania. They have a bunch of trails that range from moderate to pretty challenging. About 20 Rovers, mostly late model. Split into 2 groups and tackled a few different trails. My old P38 handled it just fine, I was one of the few vehicles that had some good AT tires (General Grabber AT2) and that served me well.
Anyway, here are the pics, enjoy.

Chris X,
That's awesome! Thanks for posting. So yours is the white RR?? Was someone behind you in another Rover taking photos of you? Anyhow, very cool. What was the most challenging obstacle that your Rover encountered, if anything? I'd love to do a course like that sometime.

Hardest part...hmm...We got hung up on one deep mud hole that had a real steep mogul coming out of it, then a sharp drop off. I ended up changing up my approach angle a little and got over it without hanging up on the frame. A full size 2009 Rangie made it too, but the LR2's in the group had to be strapped through it. One Disco II in the group had a 3" coil lift, ARB bumper and a winch and he walked through it without much drama.
One area had about a dozen logs over it and it was muddy and slippery, that was challenging as well.
The Jeep..ha ha....that is a 2010 Rubicon. Our 2 groups were each "led" by a Rubicon provided by the resort as our "trail guide" - employees of the resort's Adventure staff were driving - its a mandatory thing they do there. It was nice to have someone out front who knew the trails anyway. I had no problems keeping up with it, even though it had MTR tires. You can see a lot better out of the Rangie.
I did drive the Rubicon some, nice machine but I'll keep the Rangie. All of the participants drove Rovers of course, no other makes allowed other than those two Rubi's from the host resort.
We did crack the bottom of the rear bumper cover near the hitch mount. A few zip ties fixed that right up. I might just cut it all off or get a steel rear bumper in the future. No other trail damage for us.
I hope they do it again next year. They have another event earlier in the summer that is an African Safari type event somewhere in Ohio at "the Wilds."
That resort (Nemacolin) will be hosting the Jeep Jamboree in 2011 - so I know I'll be there again for that at least.
If anyone knows how to post the pics in the thread itself let me know and I'll do it that way, clicking is a PITA!
