There are two systems, this one, which had a module associated with it in the tailgate area. Then there is the newer model with is essentially another key. When I first looked at the Defender, it showed this model back in 2020, when they released it. Kind of why I bought it in the first place. However, I am not sure if it does work or not with the 2020. I have a 2022, so it did not work with mine. I ended up having to get the later and much scarcer model that needed programming from the dealer. It also needed a a lot of cash forked over to the dealer as well to encourage the programming.
So short answer, I do not know.
