Yup. I had planned to use my bank’s financing, but was told (10 months after placing my order and paying my deposit) that I had to finance through the dealer. I said “Nope. Your rates are higher than my bank’s.” When they dug in their heels, I said “Then I’ll pay cash.”
I had to escalate to the dealership manager (above the sales manager) to get them to honor a cash deal they made with me months earlier that said nothing about financing.
Left a bad taste in my mouth and made me unlikely to buy from that dealer ever again.

Not JLR, but I've had dealers be very upfront and show what they get in commissions etc if you finance, so if you do that rather than pay in full we'll split that with you and discount the already agreed deal provided you commit to not paying off the finance within a specific (but not long) period.
