2022 P400 - Off-road tires

not required to run winters here in WA state. although we do get snow and we often go up to the mountains in the winter and drive in snow. last winter i used nitto ridge grapplers and they were fine for me. not 3 peak rated though.
our trailhawk has wildpeak at3w's (our 2017 trailhawk did too). we had them in 35" form on our rubicons as well. i really like the falkens for an all around tire and i thought they did great in snow.

If the offroad tires are not forced on you with a package you want I would not spend any money on them. You are better off getting 20" rims instead as there are basically no good tire options for the 19's. BFG doesn't make 19" KO2's, and I believe the 19" duratracs are not tri-peak rated, but I could be wrong there. I definitely remember the goodyear snow rating was not consistent between sizes.

It really depends on where you live and what you need.
You said Illinois. I'm not familiar with what winter conditions are like there.
I've been in the northeast (NY, PA, NJ) pretty much my whole life. There was maybe a decade of it where I religiously used 2-sets of wheels on our AWD/4WD vehicles so that I had a set of Blizzak or equivalent snow tires for each.
But as time has gone on I've found our winters less and less harsh. That coupled with the proliferation of tire pressure sensors and increased cost and trouble of 2-sets of tires for each vehicle, I stopped. I use all seasons on everything now and have no worries, even when we go skiing/boarding etc.
Our P400 is on the all-season (basically sport tires) and we have had no issues with the snow, but again we've not had any real blizzards. We also haven't had any problem off-road, though our use is primarily beach/dunes/sand and no rock crawling.
We purposely picked the 19" wheels for more sidewall. And now seeing the OEM off-road tires I would have probably gone with them and I bet they'd be even better off-road or in snow, but I can't say for sure.
But I also can't say what your comfort level is and I know some won't be happy unless it's got the triple-peak snowflake marking/rating. But then again I don't have to deal with any laws requiring that.
Good luck with your decision.

They might be better than the standard tires in snow/ice, but they are not snow rated, proper snow rated offroad tires would be much better. In addition if you need to go anywhere that requires a snow rating you'll get turned back. If part of the reasoning behind getting them is to avoid having a winter set I'd definitely say you are better off going for 18 or 20" rims and getting the KO2's or TriPeak Duratracs installed once you get your truck. I've got the KO2's on order and I'm planning to try and sell the brand new Pirelli factory tires on facebook/craigslist to make back some of the cost.
