Anyone notice film or clear protection on front window? Especially see it at night when it rains.

 

Did you have a solar attenuating windscreen as an option? If so that’s likely what you are seeing.

 

I don't.

 

I do not but I do notice the wires running through the heated windshield that are VERY annoying - especially for a OG like me who wears glasses......

 

Is it possible LR ships with glass protection film that the prep guys forgot to take off prior to delivery? I’d be interested to hear what LR says if you take it in.

 

FWIW, I do NOT have the solar attenuating option in my late-MY2020 P400 build spec (window sticker). However, for some reason that I can't explain, I do have the "film" mentioned here in my windshield. I can tell by the cut outs near the rearview mirror. From the owners manual, looks like those cut outs are for you to stick toll passes or front view cameras. I also have in the bottom left side of my windshield, the little logo of a thermometer with a swirling arrow that was discussed in another thread here and supposedly denotes the solar attenuating windshield. All in all very confusing and my only conclusion is that I got the solar attenuating option as standard equipment. Don't ask me why or how.

 

I am close to the automotive manufacturing world in the US but not other countries. I wonder if the standard windshields were not available for some reason at the time some of these were due to have them installed? They could have put in a SA in its place? Would be way cheaper than shutting the line down.

 

Well then you *do* have the solar attenuating (non HUD version) windscreen...

 

My brand new 2023 D90 window sticker says I have the solar attenuating windscreen but I have no cutouts along side the rearview mirror at the top like my 2022 did.
