I am sure they were, but man, at a minimum go to the P300 and use the steelies then - like they did with the white ones. Or use the P400 with big brakes, but find a fix to use 18s on those. If we all can do by grinding calipers or switching, why LR can't? Those alloys do not go well with green painting at all.
Not to be a steelies snob but it that 75tht had white steelies and a white roof it would look amazing (IMHO)
I've long threatened to paint my black steelies Pangea; I'm a big fan of 70s-look body-color steel wheels on Jeeps. Here's my 2014 on my 16" wheel/37" off-road tire setup:
And street 35s on 17" wheels:
Wouldn't these look boss in Pangea?
But as good as body-color steelies look, alloys look just God-awful. It's embarrassing, that 75th Anni.
Here's a Jeep 75th Anniversary, for contrast:
Bronze wheels and bumpers, Sarge Green paint, 17" wheels. Looks great.
Oh, and this is the inspiration for my Jeep build, above. US Navy Jeeps.
