A couple of quick photos below (will try to get better ones later). This is in access height. Don’t have any with wheels turned, but there is room even at access with wheels fully turned. With the 18” wheels, there is definitely a lot of tire at this size, but I think it works well.
Thanks all for the input. I ended up putting on Nitto Terra Grappler G2s in 275/65R18. I liked that they are slightly lighter than some of the E rated truck tires, but still carry the XL rating. I haven’t gotten off road yet, but no noticeable noise increase compared to the Michelin tires. Plus they are snow rated. So far I’m happy with them. And no rubbing, even at access height.
Curious, as I am looking to upgrade as well.......did you consider the Ridge Grappler vs the Terra Grappler you ended up deciding on??/

I went with the Terra Grapplers because I’ll be spending the majority of my time on highways and light trails, so didn’t feel I needed as aggressive of a tire. That being said, most reviews of the Ridge Grappler I have seen note they are just as quiet on the highway. The Ridge Grapplers were on my short list due to being one of just a few tires in the right size range with the XL load rating (I was generally trying to avoid going up to LT tires).
Also the Terra Grapplers are snow rated. Not sure about the Ridge Grapplers. Not a make a break for me, but nice to have. They actually make two versions of the Terra Grapplers in the same size and load ratings, but one model number is snow rated while the other is not in case that is a consideration for you.

Why would you paint those steelies black?! You have the classic look…although I freely admit I think black wheels look a bit ‘trying too hard’. :-)
@mnugent - Thoughts on lifting that? Like your set up and thinking of lifting 1.5" inches.
Sorry, I just saw this... I do not have any info or done any research on that. I think it works pretty well as is, but I could see people wanting an inch or two more.
Thanks @mnugent . I'm trying to avoid a lift, but I want larger tires & full articulation with no rub. I guess world peace would also be good in the wish list... If yours is there, I may follow your path.
I only get a slight rub when hard over in access height. I have not had any other rubbing otherwise. I will be adding the extended wheel arch trim and/or mud flaps to limit the stone chips on gravel roads. Overall, I am very happy with the setup except for not getting the tire sensors to register. I had them tested before they installed them, but they are not registering. I did have to have them banded inside the wheels since this rims did not accommodate the long valve stem. I can not see that causing the issue, but maybe the steel band is limiting the transmitting frequency. I'm not going to worry about that until I switch wheels in a couple months.
