Default Anyone replaced the front speakers?

Wondering if it's possible to replace just the front speakers... without getting crazy with the install etc. I'm fairy certain I blew the front driver's speakers (there are 3 maybe?). And it sounds terrible when making a phone call... scratching noises. Groan

My car has this: 025LN Meridian™ Surround Sound System according to the build sheet... and this according to the window sticker:

How do you know which (400w -vs- 700w) Meridian system is in the vehicle? I bought a used 2021 X-Dynamic HSE and can’t figure out what I actually have as far as systems go…

It will say "Surround" on the meridian panel on the door.

So far I have figured out that the Defender 6 1/2" door speakers I plan to replace are 2 OHMs. I just had all the speakers in our new X5 replaced with Focal speakers since the B&W sound system was unavailable in the X5. Probably going with these in the Defender:

I spoke with my trusted custom audio installer (AVI in Newton, MA). They said the Defender amp system is rather complex with some sort of ethernet connections. When I was there with our X5 they were installing a new sound system in a V8 Defender with Morel speakers and a new amp. However, the price was over $13K which is more than I want to spend.

Also, I doubt you ruined a speaker. The sound quality on phone calls in our Defender has been distorted and poor since day 1. Yet music sounds perfectly fine.

I think I just want to add an external subwoofer to the system and put it in the storage area, underneath the floor, in the trunk…

I hope that’s not too hard to do… 😬

I believe this is covered under warranty. My front left tweeter was blown from what seemed like the factory and has never sounded good when making calls etc as you described. It is being replaced under warranty no questions asked by my dealer.

Thanks -- I've used Focal separates on vehicles before--they are great speakers. Hoping they can be installed without making other changes (swapping amps etc).

As for the blown speaker... I had a 2021 X-Dynamic HSE for 22 months... It had Meridian Surround--so I'm very familiar with the quality (or lack there of). I definitely have a blown speaker...

Interestingly, my old Defender that I just traded in just popped up on the dealer's site...
https://www.landrovernewrochelle.com...c1d8499da1.htm

I don't know if the dealer has this wrong or if there was a change to the system... My '23 V8 lists a 700W 13 speaker surround system.

The dealer has my '21 listed as an 825W 15 speaker surround system:
