Thx!

I am in Canada, and my production date was late May so it could be 23.5? But I think 23.5 is a non-official version, since tags on the car and registration forms only show 23MY. Although my build sheet shows 825w, I highly doubt it should be 700w since Meridian doesn't even have 825w version for Defender https://www.meridian-audio.com/media...t-a-glance.pdf

I also just had a blown speaker replaced under warranty.

No surprise...these OEM speakers look pretty cheap.

yeah, it’s pretty embarrassing.

but it seems most car manufactures use a base level speaker on their premium audio upgrades. usually just add a amp and more speakers. i’m glad i didn’t spend thousands for the meridian upgrade. i would been pissed

Would it be easy to upgrade those speakers to better, aftermarket ones? Or would it be too hard to match them up to the factory amps correctly?

That is exactly the question that I'm trying to answer in this thread...

I am still a bit afraid to replace them since they are designed to run down to 20hz and I don’t really know of a “drop-in” 2ohm aftermarket speaker that can do that… 🫤
