Default Best roof rack option for fabric roof?

It appears the full sized one from LR is not compatible with the folding roof rack -

Does anyone have a roof rack on their fabric top?

Otherwise, is there another roof rack system (crossbars) that you enjoy not from the dealer? Closest dealer is about 3 hours from me, so I prefer to not have to order and go get it from there.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

We have the original installed in ours with the fabric roof and it works just fine. It does get noisy though once you hit 75+ mph, especially because of that front lip.

thank you - to clarify you mean the expedition full sized roof rack? I was assuming it would fit but the LR website says it's not compatible with fabric roof rack.
the fabric roof rack sure does fail on the sound proofing aspect just in general - not a huge fan when being in major rain storms or airplanes flying over and its as if the windows are open.

Yes, that’s the one I’m talking about. Here it is installed by the dealership. They simply asked if ours came with the roof rails and they added them to it.

Our Defender came with the roof rails so our dealer simply said “if it came with them then we can install it” and that was it.

Does the fabric roof bunch up and hit the cargo rack when open? I've never seen this firsthand but this is what I've heard as the reason as to why you can't spec the fabric roof w/ the expedition roof rack. Maybe it's false?

I called Mobile Land Rover in Alabama and they said it’ll fit with no issues and didn’t know why the official website says it’s not compatible. I was stoked and ready to schedule til they said they are booked out over a month out. Maybe I’ll pay the $300 shipping and just install myself since they have them in stock

It does not, the fabric does not touch the roof rack. Once I get home from work travel I can send some pics.

Going to see about reviving this thread specifically to address the question about other racks that have been tried with the fabric roof? I have the fabric roof and other than the occasional louder noise I actually like it. I am planning on a roof rack but have already decided I am not doing the LR expedition rack. Have been leaning towards a voyager rack. Anyone with experience with this rack or others?
