I see some D90s with the floating pillar for the outside storage + ladder and some D90s without it. Where is that spec'd? Is there a way to remove it on the ones that come with it? or pretty much have to get new windows?

 

Signature graphic I think it was called. It's an early option in the configurator. I don't like it personally because takes away what is really great visibility out of the side window. But, if you want the lunchbox on the side then I'm guessing you have to have it to protect the glass. I saw someone had one fall off so I'm guessing it's probably removable but I don't think it's intended to be.

 

Signature graphic is counterproductive on the 90 as it nearly completely blocks the view of rear seat passengers. The 110 is inconsequential as it has a structural steel pillar there regardless so it was never going to have a window there anyway. I have mixed feelings about it on the 110 but would absolutely spec a 90 without it. Unfortunately, the windshield surround follows suit and is blacked out if you forego it. I once saw a render of a 90 with all the pillars and windshield surround in body color and it was awesome.
