Debating a 130 oe 110 (coming from G63)
OK
2 trucks I have always loved, the old school Defenders and the G63
When they announce the new G wagon (2019 Models in US) I decided to spoil myself and just do it, getting a 18 so I had the old body I loved for years.
Well I have had it about 5 years now and the thrill is gone, sure I love the speed BUT I am very disappointed with the body, little rust spots all over and my service tech says its quite common.
I haul a lot of boxes for work a couple times a month and the G barely fits all I need.
Im really close to just going for a Defender (can't decide 110 or 130). From what I have read the storage between the two isn't much of a difference so Im unsure if the 130 is what I want.
I really don't see using the third row seating as we are a family of 3 but wondering if there is really enough extra space in the 130 to make it worth it?
I've had a BMW Alpina XB7 on order since March and still have no build date so Im about to just cancel the order and move on.

I really wanted an 18' G63 for a while but ultimately decided against it due to the reports of rust spots and the availability of the new Defender. Ultimately went for a loaded up 110 with Range Rover level windsor leather etc. I'd recommend the 110 for your use. The 110 just looks better, especially if you don't need 3rd row.

Went from a few L663 Defenders to a G63. There is absolutely no comparison—the G Wagen is far superior in every regard, except for MSRP. The G had no problems going anywhere the 110 could.
The build quality of the Benz is absolutely light years ahead of the Landy. Austrian precision vs. Slovakian creeks and rattles and plastic that flies off at highway cruise.

Had a ‘18 g-wagon. Now have a ‘23.5 130. I’ll take the 130 any day. Far less cabin noise in the 130 and a smoother ride. The doors don’t have to be slammed to close fully. More load space with 3rd row down. I have a family of 5 so third row is required for me.
many think the 130 proportions are goofy compared to the 110 and I agree. Though if outfitted right they can look awesome. If maximum space is the goal then go 130. Otherwise 110. Someone took delivery of a 130 with only 2 rows and a totally flat load space, which I didnt even know was an option. May be worth looking into.

110 is the only one
I got the 110 because the 130 was not available when I got mine in 2020. I also have the 3rd row seats that we don’t use but I wanted the rear ac for my dogs. I have modified it extensively and take it off roading as much as possible. If you do decide on the 110 don’t get the steel dog divider, instead get the mesh one. It is much easier to remove and install than the steel one.
