Talking How often do you use the Air Suspension?

It’s been about 2 months since I got my Defender and the novelty of the air suspension still hasn’t worn off, I'm finding myself raising it even if I'm just getting coffee Talking

Does anyone know the expected lifecycle of the air suspension system? Like is it meant to be used multiple times a day, once a day, once in a blue moon, etc.? I don't plan on keeping the car outside warranty.

Use it as much as you want. It's constantly adjusting when you're driving as well.

Every time I go in and out of my garage. I have auto access height enabled so every time I park. Any time I want, or need, a bit of extra head room clearance going into a paid parking garage. Every time I go off road and need or want some extra clearance. Any time I'm picking up folks who may need an extra step (my mom, my in-laws, etc) and for my wife when she's all dolled up despite her long legs (don't wanna mess with the dress as it were). Every time I connect/disconnect my trailer. Etc., etc., etc.. I figure I paid for it... might as well use it to make life easier and more comfortable.

Automatically settles into Access height every time you open a door, and raises back to middle height any time you exceed 10mph or so. I rarely go high, though; there is a creek I cross getting to our mountain cabin and while it doesn’t require Max height I always use it, but that’s not all that often. And when I’m out west in the rocks I’m using it.

Enjoy yourself — it will likely not be the first thing that wears out on your Defender.

I like to use it in the following situations;
  1. For my wife and daughters (who are all about 5 foot 3) when they make me wait for them in the car....yea its going strait to off road height....never stops being funny watching them try and climb in...well....funny for me
  2. When my co-worker is in front of me (in his Golf GTI) I go to off road height to get my headlights lined up with his rear view mirror...also never stops being funny for me
  3. When I am by myself, sometimes I put it into off road height and try and stay below 50 MPH so it stays there
  4. Access height is a necessity for getting into the garage
  5. Any other time the mood strikes cause its pretty rad
Enjoy the up downs

So I'm not the only one who does this :-)

Intersting enough my co-worker also has a GTI!

Guilty as charged! In my defense, it makes me a more restrained driver when I'm focused on staying under 50.

Thanks for the responses guys, I will continue to enjoy the ups and downs of this car.

Every time I pull into my 9' garage with a Thule ski box on top. If I forget to lower, the garage door molding scrapes the top of box.
