HVAC fans running when vehicle is off.

HVAC fans running when vehicle is off.
Bit of an odd thing I've noticed a few times now with our 2021 X-Dynamic HSE 110 P400. There are times when the vehicle is powered off and locked where the interior fans turn on and run full speed. It is definitely not the radiator fan and is for sure the interior fans going full blast. First time i noticed it was when we were car camping with a mattress in the back of the truck. Woke up in the middle of the night to the fans just blasting away. Turning the vehicle on stopped them. Happened two nights in a row and have noticed it once when it was parked in the garage as well when I went out and could hear them running.
Anyone else ever notice that and/or happen to know why it would be doing that? I know radiator fans can fire up at odd times but have never had a vehicle where the interior ones will do so...
Also, when we were car camping, we were woken up a couple times by notifications about the battery getting low and to run the vehicle to sort that out. Didn't have anything running in the vehicle at that point so i'm at a loss of what could have been draining the battery...

Twice, I've only encountered the loud fan when the car is off. Both times occurred when I came home on a hot summer day and turn the car off. It lasted a minute or so and stopped. i thought nothing of it besides the A/C clearing out.
Here are my thoughts on the low battery. the car is always on unless you double lock it. Each time you open the door, the car boots up the Privi Pro and that drains the battery. My thoughts are the issue you might be having is you jump into the car and close the door, which means the car is waiting for you to start up so it stays ready to go. My best suggestion would be to double lock(get the beep) the door.

Hi, I used to sort this problem out.
first of all this random HVAC operation is not normal and you’ll need to update this module by dealer. Problem is, they refuse to update until “system asks to do so” and system says everything Ok. My Defender asked for HVAC update only when it’s battery was completely depleted by this random climate operation and I brought car to dealer with transporter. Hope you can update it more easily.
as regards to battery depletion during camping, I suggest following:
1. Turn off automatic lights by touching central light for 3 sec.
2. If you need to open/close doors frequently, keep one of them (not rear one) slightly open for all the time.
3. keep the key far away from the car or put it in faraday box.
4. Do the full lock when you do not need car for long time (at night for example)

Same here! Has anyone found a solution?

3 b. Disable Keyless Entry (if you have it) then you won't need to wrap your key in aluminium foil
4b . If you want to keep the barn door open, (no critters around) you can place a carabiner in the locking mechanism and double lock the vehicle, thus giving you access to the boot (ala beers in the fridge).
5. Remove any bluetooth devices from your obd2 port as this port is always powered.
If you have a flat battery and can't get into the vehicle, you can remove the front right side wheel arch clips and snake a positive alligator clip onto the positive terminal. Negative on the chassis. If you have another 12v battery source you can get enough charge after a short time to open the vehicle and raise the hood. Needs about 10.3 V to fire up the system. Then you can jump start by numerous means. Much better than the shame of skull dragging the vehicle onto a tow truck.

My Defender started to burn because of that issue
I've had the same situation. In a middle of the night I've heard that suddenly HVAC started to work. (the car was turned off for several hours). I called LR assistance and in a meantime I saw the fire. The outcome can be seen on a picture. I even don't want to describe how LR is treating it. They even didn't give me the replacement car although I still have warranty. Never again Land Rover. I was extremely lucky to be awake because I could spot the fire once it started.

Agree, that is terrible. Our 2021 sometimes cranks up the AC fan by itself, usually during a software update. It also did it to me when swapping tires but once I removed the key fob from inside, the fan shut off. Makes me want to park it outside overnight...the way my neighbor with a Kia Telluride with a trailer hitch parks his outside far away from the house.
