Default Keyless entry

Finally got confirmation that Landrover has issued a Tech bulletin for the poor Key fob reception on the drivers side of the vehicle. Now just waiting on parts for the fix.
Apparently its a second receiver on the left side of the car.

Will be nice to have the reliability we have all come to expect when unlocking a car with arms full of groceries.

Does it mean you don't need to press the button, just grab the handle and it will open up just like the older range rovers?

No, that won't revert to the good old days, I'm afraid. My understanding is that the change was made because of security concerns with the old system - it was way too easy for tech savvy thieves to clone key fobs from a distance with the old "grab and go" unlocking system. This new one, where you need to physically push a button for the doors to unlock, is apparently safer and harder to crack.

yeah this just adds or moves? the rf receiver. i hope this really fixes the issue. and i hope my local dealer won't be jerks when i request this get done. overall, i like my 110 but tons of little things like this make it frustrating to own.

The fix is relatively easy based on studying that Bulletin, but the two main parts (the plug and the receiver - $100 total) are on serious back-order. I checked with a few big JLR parts suppliers. Probably be months on back order with the chip issue, etc.

So there's a fix (or really a patch), but we won't get it for a while...

So glad I found this thread. Its very frustrating just standing next to the car pushing the button over and over and over… and finally pulling the fob out. Some days I miss my Honda/Subaru/Toyota $30k vehicle where all this stuff worked from day 1.

So after I posted previously, I was anticipating this problem with my 2022 D110 SE, but have not had the slightest issue with key fob or activity key reception. I did order the parts in anticipation of having the problem (now that's paranoia!) and received the Radio Frequency receiver and necessary plug. I was prepared to do the work myself if needed, or at least have the parts available for the dealer (figuring these parts would be scarce like everything else) if it was warranty covered. So if anyone wants to purchase my parts (for what I paid plus shipping - $130 total). Send me a PM.

Would this not be covered under warranty for free if LR issued a Tech bulletin?
