Land Rover Exerience
Has anyone had a Land Rover Experience that they want to share? No, not the one where the local Dealer/Sales Person screws you like a GFE. I mean the one where a Land Rover specialist teaches you off-roading. I've off-roaded since I was a teenager on a beater CJ-5, but I'm sure I have a LOT to learn. I'm not interested in attending, just want to hear what they conveyed. I read an earlier thread where someone referenced the LRE and tire pressure for the Land Rovers. It made me think what other tips were out there.

I have done LRE in Manchester, VT. I wanted to go test out a Defender (and have some fun) before i ordered one.
It was a great time. Instructors were awesome and very exciting terrain. They show you how to really push the vehicles which is fun. and WOW did the defender perform, I was sold immediately.
Can't recommend it enough.
Tons of great places nearby to grab a beer after its done too

Anyone get one for free with a purchase from Land Rover? I am going to be in Asheville NC in a couple weeks and tried to get my sales rep to get me a free experience since I am buying an 80K plus defender and he told me to call land rover usa about it.
So many of the yelp reviews reflect people who got the experience as part of their vehicle purchase.

I received a coupon when I bought my the 2011 LR4 and later a 2016 Evoque. I did not receive on with the Defender. One was not offered.
I went to LR experience Asheville with each of the first two vehicles mostly to understand the experts’ views as to the details of how to maximize the 4WD systems — particularly as compared to the best driving techniques used on old-school 4WD vehicles and prior Discovery 1 through 3 JLR system designs.
They were very helpful and knowledgeable to share their insights - and do a good job of providing insight suitable to the level of knowledge and capability the new owner has. Because of this, the dialogue and driving can be very very helpful in shortening the new owner’s learning curve regarding how to get the most performance out of the vehicle.
There are also some really useful videos on YouTube, which help a driver understand from a systems viewpoint the evolving design approach of these new platforms. Those from Sir someone with the last name White in Australia or South Africa are really helpful to understand what the vehicle 4WD system is trying to accomplish and how to help it do so.

Check your email. I got one in my welcome email from Land Rover corporate for my 21 defender x. Subject line was "Welcome to Land Rover" its like half way through the email for a free two hour experience. I've bought two RR sports and they always came with it in this same email not dealership related. No chance in hell the dealership I bought from has any idea what this is.
Im sure if you call with your VIN on hand they'll honor it if you haven't used it.
"Enjoy a complimentary 2-hour lesson at a LandRover Experience Center. With the help of professional instruction, you’ll conquer off-road obstacles on a purpose-built course during an experience tailored to your skill level. Contact one of our centers located in California, North Carolina and Vermont to make your reservation, and have your VIN on hand.*

As new 2022 owners, the day before we picked up our build on the 16th, we saw on the website the "Land Rover Experience complementary 2 hour school" Once we took delivery, we called the Ashville location (Just happened to be on our route north for our 2500 mile road trip north from southwest florida on Saturday) and all we needed to book the appointment on Tuesday next week was the serial number of the vehicle. Done Deal! Glad to hear it is worth the time even for the $475 fee if you had to pay for it.
I have not been off road since my new 1972 CJ5 Jeep 8 cylinder snow plowing vehicle back in the mid 70's. Took the farm, through the fence to beat the 10 mile log jam to see Pink Floyd at Blossom Music Center in Cleveland in 1973: " Pink Floyd – Blossom Music Center – June 24, 1973 in Northeast Ohio music history, Pink Floyd performed at Blossom Music Center as part of the Dark Side Of The Moon tour. This was the concert where thousands of fans without tickets crashed thru a snow fence in the woods and gained entry." we just 4 wheeled to the gate.. we had tickets!
While this is my lovely wife's car and event, I can't wait to learn from the pros with this electronic off road beast! (I got used to getting out of the Jeep, locking the Warn Hubs on each of the front wheels and throwing that half pint FWD shifter into low range!)
I will critique upon return.

One of the first things we did was experience the side angle capability, and while it wasn't 45 degrees, it was still exciting. I knew things were going well when I realized my wife was giggling...she is not at all into off-road anything, preferring to camp in a hotel room. She enjoyed the 2-hours as much as I.
My dealership did tell me I would be eligible for a free Experience ticket. Not sure how to get it, but it should be available to all who purchase.
Enjoy,
WHM
