Default Leasing?

Reviewing other threads on leasing a Defender, it seems like leasing has not been a very favorable option over the past few years. I was wondering if anyone has looked at the numbers more recently?

That’s because leasing offers we’re terrible. It made no sense, coming from a guy that usually leases.
But new programs , better programs are suppose to be on the horizon. Latest offer I seen was on 23”s for example 110 x-dynamic $82k sticker with $5k dwn,$1380 mnth… that was on LR site, not too long ago. When purchasing my 23.5 a few-months ago, Leasing was out of the question!

I'll be looking at the numbers this week, as I (hopefully) will be taking delivery of my '24 110 X-Dynamic SE. I lease through my corporation. My MSRP is roughly 90K, and I'll get a 10K/yr lease for 3 years. I can report back if you're interested.

I'd be interested to see what kind of numbers you get. Thanks.

I also can lease a car through work. As long as the lease numbers aren't horrendous, it makes sense for me to lease.

I know everyone knows this, but worth restating just in case. That 5K down just buys down the lease payment, so assuming the $1380 is the monthly payment for a 36 month lease it's effectively a $1500 or so lease payment.

The money factor on my lease, which was a 3 year 10K/yr lease, was effectively an interest rate of just over 11%. Not very favorable, but it is a benefit my corporation provides so there you have it.

Thanks. Do you know what the residual % is after 3 years?

I may end up leasing my Defender 110 as well. But, I would prefer to buy the Defender and lease the R1S, but Rivian isn't offering leasing options as yet.

The lease option was not favorable at all. MF came in at over 11% interest. Did not make sense, even with the tax benefit of leasing through my corp. I purchased my Defender instead.

On my 90K MSRP truck, residual is around 56K, so around 62%.

It's a good idea to revisit the numbers and assess your options when it comes to leasing a Defender. The landscape of leasing deals can change over time, so looking at more recent data is a smart move.If you ever find yourself exploring not just car leasing but also other financial decisions like mortgages or any other financial matters, you can consider consulting a Mortgage Broker in Newcastle. They can provide valuable insights and help you make informed choices that align with your financial goals.Ultimately, staying up to date and seeking expert advice can help you make the best decision when it comes to leasing or any other financial matters.
