Default New Bridgestone Dueler Ascent A/T - made for the "modern" 4x4

Yesterday Bridgestone released the new Dueler Ascent A/T, which is designed for luxury SUVs and pickups. Naturally, they used a Defender for the press photos. It looks like a decent alternative to the standard Goodyear Wrangler Adventures - probably good enough for most people. It is engineered to be quiet and refined, while still offering adequate capability. It also has a 3PMSF rating. Looks like this might be a good alternative to the Wrangler Adventures if you want a tire that more hardcore than an A/S, but not as extreme as Goodyear Duratracs, Falken Wildpeaks or KO2/3s. There are not a ton of sizes available at the moment, but that will probably change over time.

That's a good looking tire and it's a 3 Peak, so it's good in snow. 60k rating would be good as well. I'm adding these to my short list. I hope the factory tires wear out fast!

Funny to me that the announcements include photos of it on a Defender, yet no 255/65R19. I suppose there is hope for the future.

I'd say the chances of the exact size being offered is next to zero. Unless JLR gets Bridgestone as an official tire vendor, I don't see it being available in 255/65R19, as that size is exclusive to the Defender. Notice how every tire in that size has LR on the sidewall. I swapped the 19s I ordered my car with for a set of 20" LR4 wheels so I could get better tires.

Never buy the 19's if you are looking for offroad tires. It's not an anomaly that the selection of 19's is so poor, the market doesn't demand it.

I wonder how many ply the sidewalls are. The biggest problem for Defender tires seems to be torn or punctured sidewalls.

I wonder how they compare to BFG Trail All terrain tires on the OCTA?

They appear to be quite similar, but the Bridgestones have a more aggressive tread pattern.

I just mounted a set of K03s on my '24 90 and they're certainly noisier than the K02s were on my '22 110.

I'm not going to defend JLR stupidity of making Defenders unable to fit any Off Road All Terrain tires. It's Darwin Award stupid. But going to 20" rims doesn't solve the problem. If I plug in 255/60/20 at discounttires.com, there's still no tires of substance there that I can't get with the 19"s. So what exactly have you found that fits the 20"s and not the 19"s? My plan is to swap to 18"s if the KO3s don't come in a year or so. But if the KO3s do show up, I'd rather that be on a 19" rim than a 20" rim - wouldn't you?
