Default Overhead mirror connector pin out

Does anyone know the wire color for the connector overhead where the sunglass holder is? I want to hardwire my radar detector to the ACC power lead but im not sure which wires to tap into. Is it just the red and black wires that i see in the picture? Does anyone have a pinout diagram i could look over?

Thank you!

I don't have an answer on the pin outs for you, but I do have Powerful UK's wire tap for sale in the marketplace, cheap. No hacking up your Defender's wiring harness and completely removable in the future. $25 free shipping in the lower 48.

hello, here you are, the red/brown wire is the fixed positive, (always powered), the black is the ground.

cheers

Thank you Marco! Do you happen to know which lead would be the ACC lead to supply power only when the car is on? Im not the best at reading these diagrams.

If you can't read the wiring schematic, maybe you should buy the wiring plug from UtahLandy or not be working on it.
You can do some damage if you start crossing wires.

I actually did purchase it. I just wanted to know purely for my own knowledge.

hello,
better to follow the advice of the users and not mess with the wires if you are not an expert, just for your information, the wires that powrfuluk uses to power are the BN/GN position 1 on the connector (which however is not really a positive under key ....it comes from the bcm and has different rules from a positive under key), and the BK wire position 10 on the connector, which is ground.
You can see them in the diagram below on the left.

I have both a dash cam and a radar detector mounted upper windshield area. Both hardwired in.

I used the PowerfulUK harness for the dash cam. Superb and plugs right in. Cracking brilliant.

Then for radar detector... I used a mirror tap (the real one that's 20-30 bucks, not the amazon/ebay knock offs which always have pin problems and intermittent issues). Put the mirror tap into the back of the car-side harness of the rear view mirror plug. Mirrortap by Blendmount

This setup has been perfect.and looks very clean. I see no wires. From my perspective, either is a reliable good power source. I just needed two.

Both power up when I open the drivers door. Very seamless. No issues.
