Took me a few hours navigating through past threads to just get a basic list of off-road + winter-rated tire options. Thought it would be more helpful to have a thread that starts with a list of tires that folks have confirmed fit w/ Defender stock 20" wheels.
Falken Wildpeak 265/60/20
And here's some specific posts+threads I saved in my notes as being noteworthy:
I am planning on buying the Falken Wildpeak's and will report back in a month how they fare for on-road + off road.
Falken Wildpeak 265/60/20
- many people have mentioned getting these. Triple peak rated and works well for off roading.
- Will wear down a bit faster in summer, but could be good choice for those not wanting to switch tires with season+purpose.
- This guy says reviews for Wildpeak say the tire is better than KOG for rain/snow https://landroverforums.com/forum/20...39/#post835953
- People love them https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...eak-t3w-81509/
- If buying from disounttire https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tir...-a-t3w/p/26538, you can lower price by price matching from amazon
- has been paired w/ OEM 20s and Redbourne Morland rims.
- has three peak rating. Not a true dedicated winter tire, but handles the snow reasonably well.
- handles wet conditions well https://landroverforums.com/forum/20...e5/#post795414
- starts to feel directionally loose at 70/75/80mph and above. Amazing off road.
- many folks report trying this tire out without rubbing
- several folks mentioned the tire feels stiff and vehicle suspension feels harsh with this tire
- confirmed 110 with air suspension using this here https://landroverforums.com/forum/20...41/#post841854
- E load gives extra sidewall. Saw this mentioned in another post. https://landroverforums.com/forum/20...33/#post824200
- see first post for review on https://landroverforums.com/forum/20...em-all-107719/
- See first post review at https://landroverforums.com/forum/20...em-all-107719/
- Fits on OEM 20 https://landroverforums.com/forum/20...39/#post837262
- Another person https://landroverforums.com/forum/20...28/#post818014
- Nice on road, but maybe a bit tame for off-roading https://landroverforums.com/forum/20...37/#post832132
- Installed successfully without rubbing. If adding spacers, will encounter rubbing. https://landroverforums.com/forum/20...33/#post824494
- similar reports as the KO2. stiff tire that will be reliable for rock crawling, but less comfortable for highway.
- specific advice on only airing down to 30-32 PSI for more hardcore trails https://landroverforums.com/forum/20...25/#post809908
- a few people reported puncturing the sidewall too easily while off roading.
- folks are happy with on-road performance and mild off-road performance.
- fit without issue https://landroverforums.com/forum/20...24/#post801933

I have Wildpeaks on my p400 defender. I chose to swap the rear calipers to run 18s and went with stock size 18" tires (255/70/18). I drive a lot in the snow and they perform well. Anecdotally, a friend has a new Tundra and just bought a new 4Runner as well. The Tundra has K02s, the 4Runner Wildpeaks. He told me the 4Runner stops a lot better in the snow.

I had a Jeep Gladiator, before the defender, that came with Wildpeaks. I moved up to 35" Nitto Ridge Grappler's after a while and then to KO2's for about 6 months before I sold the truck. I preferred the Wildpeaks hands down over the other two. I felt like they performed better in the snow and we also much quieter on the road.
I'm leaning towards putting a set of Wildpeaks on my defender, but have been looking to see if anyone has any experience with the Falken Rubitreks. Looks like a great tire that may be even better on the street. I'd love to hear some feedback.
