Part revision to the rectangular piece at the base of each A-Pillar?
Here are 2 genuine LR passenger A Pillars, you're looking at the back side of the lower RH a-pillar. Left = date code 2020 (came on my car painted Eiger Grey). Right = date code 2021 (I put on the car as I wanted them Black). Pillars went on fine, very secure, looks great.
However, I'm having a recurring issue with the little rectangular pieces at the base of the A-pillars popping off. I thought new A-pillars would fix it, but alas, seems the issue is with these little painted rectangular pieces. Someone's been in there before (dealer maybe doing TSB?) and the little clip on the both sides piece is broken (shockingly was *not* me this time!). You can see in this pic below. Is there a redesigned part for this, with a different clip, that fits the new style A-pillar differently?
So now I'm wondering if the new style A-pillars must be matched to a newer style little trim piece at the bottom. (?). Maybe this broken clip has been redesigned to better fit the new design A-pillar? They sort of hung on with the old A-pillars, but now they're much more loose.

My a pillars were looked at and somefix was done to try and fix the a pillar rattling and guess what! It didnt work. They were however kind enough to leave scratches all over that area.
my advice to you is
If youre looking for problems, youre gonna find them. find a cheap fix and forget about it. i would try velcro. I use velcro to hold up my front license plate and it survives 80mph, snow, rain, parking all whilst being removable.
