Default Replaced OEM Cargo Liner with Weathertech Liner

After a year and a half, I just threw out the OEM rear cargo liner. Never fit right and it slid around.

Replaced it with a Weathertech and the fit is perfect. Here is the odd surprise...somehow the rear cargo area feels larger with a liner that fits all the edges correctly.

Sorry for the results, @PaulLR. I actually went the complete other direction!<g> I didn't have anything at first (too cheap to order it) and planned to do the Weathertech. Really liked how it was designed to actually catch a little bit of fluids. But I really hated the much thinner materials (more plastic like than rubber like) from my other vehicles' OEM liners. So, I threw it out and went with the OEM. This obviously proves that everyone has different tastes. I now use that huge weathertech as a mat when I'm crawling under the Defender to keep me off the ground! Mine doesn't move around because I carry so much crap back there on a daily basis.

I'm with GouseK9 on this. I found the Weathertech not as slick as the cargo deck, but not much better and I hated the 2" lip fit on the forward edge. Dumped the Weathertech for the OEM mat which is much more grippy.

I also went with the weathertech as soon as I got my X. Plus the snap on bumper protector. Helps out having three labs with claws.

Interestingly, I'm thinking of going with this to cover that and just quit worrying about dog claws, etc. Link.

I bought this

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005...21ef1802W06HO0

Which is rubber rather than ABS and held up well through the winter. Not quite the coverage of the Powerful UK cover (which was not available when I bought mine) but still a quick and easy fix

Hopefully most of you know but if not: the OEM rear cargo liner (As shown in Post 5 right above) has a roll-out bumper cover integrated into the underside. It's just a thin vinyl flap, but it's there.

You just blew my mind - sure enough, there it is (with the front side still attached to the bottom by those plastic holders). Handy!!

Wow, that OEM liner isn't what came with mine. My OEM cargo liner did not have that nice no-skid backing or the flap to protect the rear bumper. And the fact that it didn't fit right and skidded around makes me wonder if they put in a liner from another model. Whatever I threw out was not what is posted in the above pics. If your dealer can supply the correct OEM liner above, go with it.

I have a pronounced problem with how lazy I am. Or, to make myself feel better - how focused I am at minimizing excess/wasteful process steps. Yeah, that's it. As a result, I have the little kilt flap but I RARELY think about it. Primarily because I have so much crap back there that I don't lift the matt up unless I clear out a bunch of stuff first.
